Gloves are exceptionally warm, and waterproof. I searched around amazon for a long time looking for waterproof, winter, dexterous gloves and I was skeptical of almost every brand. I chose the Youngstown gloves based on the amount of 5 star ratings vs the ironclad winter waterproof gloves rating. I work as a movie electrician in NYC. I needed something for the winter that would allow me to be efficient with dexterity, warm, and waterproof. Now, let it be said, the definition of waterproof, and my understanding of the gloves statement of waterproof. I dont think it refers to keeping your hand submersed in ice water for several hours, although I havent tried that, or will need to. I needed something that I can grab wet cable with, move/lift objects that are wet, or are getting wet from the rain, while keeping my hands warm and dry. So far, they live up to the deed. Very well made gloves. Will be looking forward to buying the non winterized ones for the summer.

Bought these gloves for spring skiing - to help fend off both cutting ice and slushy snow, keep my hands warm and dry, but lend enough dexterity that I could adjust bindings without taking the gloves off. Also I wanted them to not hold in so much heat that I'd have to peal them off to cool down on the lift. Turned out they weren't waterproof. Not sure why they're described as waterproof but they sure aren't. And they're not particularly warm. Once they were wet the wind cut right through and my hands got definitively cold with an external temp of about 30 F. Dexterity is good, toughness is good, waterproofiness and warmth are bad.

I purchased these gloves to work on the flight line in Afghanistan during the winter. So far I am very pleased with these gloves. They appear to be built to last, and the materials seem very strong. They were delivered very promptly, and the fit is perfect (I ordered the large, for average sized hands). I am in a fairly harsh environment, and these gloves have held up to fuel, hydraulic fluid, etc. I am definitely happy with this purchase.
The only two issues that may be of concern are: 1)The finger tip area is a bit bulky, so if you need to do any work with small objects it could be tough (but most gloves are like this anyway), and 2)They are not very warm when the wind is blowing and you are not actively engaged working with your hands. Other than that I am very happy, and would buy this brand again.
